I still would have preferred a traditional game and don't want Dynasty Warriors 10 to be a continuation of what they've done here (I think they should have made this game would have worked better as a spin-off rather than a main-line title) but I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. I was pretty down on the change to open-world when it was announced and had a lot of trepidation. I put in 7 hours today and got Liu Bei up to level 20. I installed it last night, started playing it this morning, and now have had to force myself to stop so I can get some sleep before work tonight. I happened to see this game at Walmart for $10 and said "Even if I never wind up playing it, I'd pay $10 to have it on my shelf." But I got a new Xbox back in February and have been itching for a new Musou game.

Then I was preoccupied with PS4 exclusives. I figured I'd get around to it eventually but my Xbox broke last May and I was without a console until I bought a PS4 on Black Friday. Man, is this game something or what? Like, yeah, movie mode and action mode are basically still choices between framerate or v-sync, but action mode actually feels really good now, and it even hits 60 every now and then. The amount of work they've done in getting the game to a halfway decent state is pretty amazing. Jumped back into my 48-hour save (which is now 70) and yeah, I'm enjoying it a lot more now than I did at launch. Re-bought this after spotting it at Walmart for $10.
